Hello friends.Just learned that knuckle replacement is possible,ya-hoo! And see there is already much discussion & info presented. But too that it all only seems provided for painful arthritis,& similar. My question; might this be available for one w/ neither, but rather disfigured, bent w/@ 50% range of motion? This being the progressive after affects (on 2) from a fire.Thank you very much for any help.(New to this site, and grateful to be here.)

Knuckle Replacement
I don't think it would be available on the NHS unless it would mean you. would get better movement in the finger.
It's always worth asking your doctor though.
My RA was dx when I was 6 and my little fingers had already deformed by then but, despite further finger deformities and reduced dexterity, I have never been offered knuckle replacement and I concur with AgedCrone, the NHS would only offer surgery to reduce pain and improve mobility, not for straightening.
I had my knuckles replaced on my right hand as a previous tendon op had failed. This was performed by a hand surgeon on the NHS about 11 years ago. My fingers had drifted right over and the hand was pretty useless. With lots of hand physio after I could use this hand again and make a fist. This was at a specialist plastic dept in a large hospital. X
