Hi all, has anyone experienced periorial dermatitis while on Elrezi or any other time? I have it around my nose and cheeks and gets very red and when it flares up small blisters appear. Doesn’t itch or hurt, just tingles. I saw my rheum nurse this week who said to stop the injections to see what happens but I had my last weekly injection 10 days ago and it’s getting worse. Any idea how to treat it? My doc has prescribed metronidazole but that doesn’t do anything. I wouldn’t mind if it was anywhere but in the middle of my face! Thanks

Periorial dermatitis
I would go back to gp if the cream hasn't started to work after 7 days . You made need a change of cream with a stronger steroid base . Try not to touch it as you don't want to infect any open blisters . Hope if clears up soon . 💐
Hello Bluebells
I have also suffered from perioral dermatitis, once before I was diagnosed with RA and once after. My dermatologist prescribed Metronidazole cream, which helped, but the only thing that got rid of it was a months course of antibiotics (Minocycline, I think). Although she wasn’t as keen to prescribe it the second time, as I’m on methotrexate and it can affect your liver!
Also I don’t use any products on my face, just water. I try not to touch my face too often and I use fluoride free toothpaste (I read that fluoride could be a contributory factor, not sure, but worth a try).
Hope this helps x
