I don't know whether the cold, exhausted feeling is just the herald of a flare or the cause of it. I have noticed that the veins around the part about to flare get really swollen and "ropey" looking too. Sorry not to be more helpful

I'm usually hopeless at joining the dots when it comes to my health so I keep a diary which helps me clarify things

I think it can do... being run down also makes you anxious and the stress of it can cause a slight flare. Take it easy x

It can. It can depend on how run down you are, how well you're controlled in some cases or how badly you're affected with whatever you're coming down with in most cases. I've just had this cold which has been going round since before Christmas & feared I'd be as bad as my h has been but managed to avoid flaring so halted my MTX for a week (which I don't suggest with any meds unless you've been told to) but injected this week as I'm through the worst.

I hope you're not coming down with anything? If you are & feel it's affecting you more than a common cold please do try to be seen by your GP if you can, it can turn very quickly & if it goes on your chest it can turn bacterial. Take normal precautions & hopefully you'll not flare.

Hi Thank you for the reply I seem to be getting over it now but I was interested to know if anyone else seemed to get a flare when they were a bit down or coming down with a cold, I would have gone to the GP if it had got worse I am very lucky as our GP has emgerency appointments morning and afternoon so you can just pop in it is a shame other GP surgery a do not have this x

That's good. Take care of yourself & rest if you do feel you're going to flare again.

Hi Tillie

Yes everytime I get ill, with colds.. That always turn into chest infections, my joints kill.. Particularly the weaker, more affected ones. (normally knees and neck)

In fact.. Sometimes the pain comes first, then I start feeling ill.. Obviously your bodies immune system revs upto fight whatever, so I thought that was why suddenly my RA gets worse, as it doesn't just attack the germs. 🙄

I've been housebound for 2 months recovering from new knee.. So I've avoided getting all the germs, until my other half got it bad last week. Now I've got it. 😞. Both my newly replaced knee and older replaced knee are hurting.. Dispute them being replaced. So it's even affecting the tissues around the joint.

I just wrap up warm and rest as much as possible.

Take care!

Jojo x
