Tacrolimus

Hi anyone on this drug? I have started it this week. Just wondered anyone on it and side effects?

I've never taken it but used to give it in my nursing days to liver transplant recipients. I know that the drug level has to be monitored closely as it can be toxic to the kidneys but it works well as an immune suppressant.

Hi Nairny,

How are you tolerating the Tacrolimus? I've just recently started it for inflammatory arthritis from Crohn's. Have you had any side effects? Did you get high potassium from it? Has it seemed to help you?

Sorry havent been on here for ages. No side effects from tacrolimus, and it seems to have helped alot. I still take one steroid 5 mg a day too. Not sure about potassium but my blood tests are all ok.

No problem. I ended up stopping it because it didn’t work for me. I’m glad it’s helped you and you haven’t had any side effects.
