I'm afraid the answer is that it varies! That's probably why you haven't had lots of responses. Some people have said they feel better after the first, others that it takes 6 months. Have a look at the treatments pages on the NRAS website and it will give you more information about your treatment from a sensible viewpoint.

Agree with oldtimer jean but for what it’s worth my rheumatologist said 12 weeks for optimum effect. I was feeling better due to no MTX side effects I think at time & he said a little early to tell yet. I’m about 10 weeks in x

Hi. I am currently 4 months in and it’s working well It took up to 15 weeks to have an effect though so keep going. I was sceptical but after a depo jab at 13 weeks which held everything off the worst never returned. I am back energy levels close to normal It’s amazing 😜

Hi. I’m just about to start benepali too as nothing else seems to control the RA. It’s interesting to read people’s replies as I’m so hopeful this is going to help me having had months and months of flares and pain. I’m a bit disappointed to read that the benefits don’t seem to kick in immediately but as others have said, we all react differently. I am not on steroids but also take 20mg if leflunomide. Have they said how long you’ll continue with that? No one has yet told me about coming off the oral meds so I’m in the dark! I sincerely hope the biologics kick in for you soon and hope that it helps us both in the long run. Good luck.

Hi same for me, worked well quite quickly but then I felt wonderful, did too much and then flared. By 3 months I would have been fab if I hadn't done too much too soon, by the follow up at 6 months in remission according to the DAS scores. Just having minor issues with liver function but happy to keep me on it and it is a game changer in my experience. Try and take it easy where you can and help your body recover a little too. Good luck. You may find you get itchy as that has started for me but it is settling I hope with a pre injection oral antihistamine currently. It's a challenging thing as they can affect liver function potentially too so it's all about balance.

Hi! I wrote an article about my experience with Enbrel which is similar with Benepaly in most European countries. Has the same main substance (Etanercept), is looking the same...is basically the same thing under a different name for UK mainly, I think. Have a look on my article if you want to find more from my experience with it.

But in a short answer...the result of the injections and an improvement, should appear after a few weeks, injections. In a month you should be far better. All the best!
