Negative nancy

Hi I hate been negative Nancy but since I started rituximab I’ve had stomachs pain right in the upper middle is it a side effect of the drug ? Just a dull ache 😖

Hi Vonnie ......I have been on RTX ( Mabthera) ) for two years now & have not experienced anything like that.

I have a particularly sensitive gut having had severe amoebic dysentery in India years ago.....even Ibuprofen can set me off. ...on the other hand I can deal with Naproxen if necessary.

How long have you been having infusions,....have you still got your gall bladder? Try looking on the Mabthera website...it lists all the know side effects,

Are you on any other meds? If it continues, I'dhave a word with your Rheumy nurse.

Ac it stared day or so after the infusion which I got last Wednesday I only take dihrocodiene for pain no anti inflammatory drugs at all as I’m sensitive it similar to pain I had years ago after taking diclofenic after a car crash, I will give the rhem nurse airing tomorrow, I’ve got my second infusion next week I don’t want that delayed, I’m hoping they don’t stop it.

I had terrible gastritis when i had my first dose , the nurse advised me to increase omeprazole and to have rituximab at a slow rate and ive had no bother since . You should discuss it with the rheumy nurse and get it checked out to see if can find the cause . I hope things settle down, best wishes 🌸

I wasn’t giving omemprazole I think I need some tho will ring the nurse tomorrow.

Describe your symptoms to the nurse in case there are other causes .hope you are able to get sorted.
