Hi everyone, here I am at 5.20 am cant sleep because of pain. I have developed trigger thumbs and they are so painful, my question is will it ever go away? My rheumy has now changed my meds, I am already on 20mg MTX by injection he wanted to give me benipali but as it is by injection I refused on the grounds that I cannot inject into my legs due to having my lymph nodes removed in my groins after having vulva cancer. I didn't want to inject twice into my tummy. Anyway the drug he now is giving me is ' remsima' and was wondering if anyone else is on this drug and what side effects you had and did it reduce the symptoms of your rd. I have previously been on abatacept and the usual dmards but it didn't do much for me. Sorry for ranting on and hope you all have a good day that is pain free.

Why don't you ask your doctor about a cortisone injection into the appropriate area of your hand to release the thumb?
I have had that procedure a few times to release trigger finger...I don t know if it can be effective on thumbs.
It works immediately & apart from a slight ache afterwards it's very successful.
I have had a cortisone injection in my thumb as I had trigger thumb years ago.
Hope this helps. X
Chris
Actually as they inject in the side of the Palm it would probably work on all fingers wouldn't it?
I must get my brain in gear this morning!
