I've been posting on my friends behalf thank you for all your help. However she has one more problem. She broke her foot 6 weeks ago and it still hasn't healed. From what I remember from my friend from years ago when she had surgery she never healed properly. Is there anything she can take to speed up the healing process?

Thank you guys.

Last year my friend nagged me to start taking Aloe Vera juice and bee pollen. Last August i had back surgery. Well when i went to have the clips out the nurse said "when did you have this surgery" and she couldn't believe how well i had healed. I never usually heal that well and i swear it is the bee pollen and juice i use. Now i swear by forever living. You can go online and get it and there are people who sell it locally, but that is the brand i reccomend. Holland and Barratt sell it and it is ok,but not as good as Forever living.com this is the site you need darling, but i warn you it is not cheap i pay £30 for the choose and i can't remember the bee pollen i think it is £16 not sure.xxxxx

If your friend is on medication to reduce the effects of an over-active immune system on her joints, then healing is likely to be slowed down. Reversing that might make the joints flare up, so not to be recommended. Adequate intake of calcium and Vit D are also needed for healing and with a fracture lack of movement between the fragments of bone - is she in a plaster or a boot? Swelling will also reduce healing speed so putting the broken foot up is also important but often difficult when trying also to remain active!

I use a formula by Dr. John R. Christopher (Herbal) Complete Bone and Tissue formula (numerous places sell it), and it has helped me heal from the knee surgery I had. Gentle support..

It depends if it's an acute fracture or a stress fracture. Also which bone she's broken & how severely. The majority of breaks are of the metatarsal & can take anything from 6 to 12 weeks to heal, much is dependent if she's a smoker or is diabetic as both can hinder healing. Her age is a consideration too, as is which meds she takes, osteo status too. Eating & drinking calcium rich foods & drinks can help, or taking Calcium/Vitamin D supplement such as Adcal-D3, her GP can prescribe these. Obviously resting the foot will help rather than being overly active.

Failing all of this she could ask the person who can give her best advice, her doctor, or the person who she saw when she first broke her foot.

Well, it is only 6 weeks, the earliest you can expect a break to heal & if she doesn't heal quickly anyway it could be the same again before the break is fully healed. I would think she'll be seen again won't she? She can ask herself then if it's ok.

I had an operation last October on my left foot with broken toes and plated but in and its not expected to heal in six weeks. It might take up to a year so its best left to her orthopedic doctor to decide and advise. My advice would be to keep active but also rest the foot elevated too.
