Methotrexate woes

I started back on MTX 0.4ml weekly (injection). Also am on plaquenil 200mg twice daily and Rituxan infusion. Last infusion was in May. I don’t think my MTX is s high enough dose as by day 5 I’m in awful pain again. Anyone else have this happen? Left rheumy a message yesterday about increasing the dose.

It does sound as if your treatment plan isn't working so you are right to get back to your consultant. Hope they come up with a better plan!

I'm on exactly the same cocktail of drugs as you and my methotrexate has been adjusted in the past, increased to 20ml injection then down to 15ml when things stabilised. At moment down to 10ml injection due liver function not behaving o higher dose. Seeing RA nurse next month to see if I can have next round of retuximab infusion. Hope you can get some relief take care xx

If you started back on it does this mean you were taking it before but stopped? I know it takes up to 12 weeks to have effect, just wondered if it was same if you restarted after gap? Could they give steroids to tide you over if so? Sorry not doc, just throwing ideas out there 🤗Hope your rheumatologist comes up with something; sorry you’re in pain x
