I am now had 3 loading double cimzia injections and two single ones.
I feel no difference and suffering from itchy skin. I contacted my specialist nurse but she had not back to me. It's affecting my sleep at night if we don't already have enough to contend with. I've taken antihistamine but does not help very much any advice please
I know that this will not sound very nice, but I occasionally suffer from this condition, particularly on my legs. I scratch until my skin is raw and the itching then eases. I think that it’s something about releasing ‘endorphins ‘. However, (not very nice) but I find that applying a small amount of fresh urine will cure the itching within about an hour. Always was the area after the itching stops.
Firstly, bear with CIMZIA if you can. For me it is a wonder drug. You will need to give it some time to make a difference, I think. I used Shea Butter on my itchy legs or other parts instead of urine. It is very effective and you can leave it on all day. Good luck and all the best.
Hello, This is the first I’v Heard about itching. Is this an effect from RA? I have had itchy legs especially when I go for walks. I constantly itch. I was wondering if I were becoming OCD. In the morning I’ll see a little blood on my sheets from scratching in the night and breaking the skin open. Thanks for any clarification you may have.
Hi, my itchy legs had nothing to do wit RA. I had this long before. Whatever the reasons for the itchiness, by regularly using of Shea Butter (morning and evening) I no longer itched and scratched. Now I only need to use it when I feel I get slightly dry skin on my lower legs, but I still use it regularly on my feet. I hope this clarifies things for you.
I’ve not had cimzia but have suffered from itchy skin for about 15 years. Sometimes it becomes unbearable and I itch from my scalp to my feet. It feels like there are ants crawling all over me. The only antihistamine that I’ve found to work is Fexofenadine 180mg. That dose is specifically for skin issues so if you get your GP to prescribe it, make sure it is 180mg.

I suffer from awful drug induced itch, I can feel it coming on, it moves round my body before settling on an area such as my forearms, side of my trunk or outer thighs or lower legs.
It darts around to start, side of my nose, hairline , tip of my elbow.
Anyway it was driving me mad and i was worried about getting infection from scratching my various body parts raw.
My GP said this roving itch was indicative of drug allergy. ( im on Hydroxy and Benepali inhections)
She said I can take up to 50mg of Certrazine Hydrochloride a day so 5 times the dose on the Benadryl box.
I take one with my twice daily Hydroxy and another two as needed during the day.
Non drowsy and keeps the itch at bay.
I get breakthrough itch now and again buts its usually when Ive taken less antihistamine in the previous few days, its almost as if my body needs a certain level of it.
Good luck with your itch, I bet the benefits outweigh the downside.

P.S the poster who recommended urine is not far off the mark as ammonia is a proven remedy for insect bites stings and irritation.
