An update after I asked for advice.

I rung the hospital to ask for appointment to be brought forward only to be told she is on annual leave for a fortnight. The nurse advised I go and see my GP, arrange for X-rays to see what is going on and she will tell Rheumy when she returns.

I have been to see the GP this morning who is new to the practice. She was absolutely brilliant and gave me a thorough examination. She has arranged for me to have X-rays and apart from CoCodamol and Tramadol which I already take she has put me on Gabapentin. She said see If this will make any difference. Just so pleased that perhaps there will be some relief from this horrible pain.
