Injection in to joint

Hi hope ur all well I’ve been told I have isolated active synovitis mtp joint and will be having a injection into the joint anyone had this thanks

Had to Google mtp joint - I think it's one of the toe joints in the foot? If that's right then I've had steroid injections on 2 or 3 of these (can't remember exactly - it was a few years ago!). It was absolutely fine. I had a local anesthetic and the nurse used an ultrasound machine to make sure they injected in the right place. Hope it helps you xx

Yes I went back to work after, although I'm sat at a desk. The injection didn't make the pain worse after I'd had it and the joints felt better than before the injection within a day or two.

Haven't had one in my toes, but had it done to my knee joint twice last year. It was amazing! Made such a big difference to my pain and stiffness levels. Felt like a new woman afterwards! Hope you get the same relief! x

Yes I've had toes, fingers and knees injected at different points. My rheumy doesn't use a local anaesthetic, but does guide the injection with ultrasound. A brief 'ouch' moment, but only for seconds. And the after effects are great!

I was advised to take it easy for a day, but not really possible with my toes and knees. My hospital is 80 miles away from where I live and not going to get home on a magic carpet... I think the joint felt a little more sore for an hour or two - but I can't really remember so shows it wasn't that bad!

I’ve had steroid directly into my wrists and elbow joints.

My injections were not guided by ultrasound and no local anaesthetic either. It’s a little discomfort but once injection given the feels ok. For me it lasts about 4 months.

It worked almost straight away and gave instant relief of pain and stiffness.
