Funny thing....

As some of you will know, I had both knees replaced together, two years ago . On the whole, an excellent job done. However, now and then, the left knee, without warning, will buckle on me. Having gotten used to this happening, in so far as it no longer surprises me as such, I’ve noticed over the past couple of weeks that during the day, I’m experiencing a sort of numbness in them- least I think that’s what the feeling is? The feel tight and numb?

Had anyone with knee replacements ever felt this?

I see the surgeon in January fir annual x ray of them but just wondered if thus is my new “norm?”

I have had my right knee done twice and i still get a lot of swelling and though it was a good job done the second time. The first time they put the wrong joint in it.xxxx

My knew knee joint was too big and left me with one leg longer than the other. I was told they would correct it when I had my other knee done but they didn’t.

Hi I’ve had both my knees replaced. One was very badly damaged because I had to wait so long for the operation. They had a real struggle with it. It’s never been very good. It did use to buckle and nearly throw me on the floor lots of times. Now it often locks and gets stuck.it actually threw me off a chair onto the floor once while I was trying to get dressed. I’ve had it 10 years now and it is still the same. I’ve learnt to be careful. The other knee has been fine, with no problems at all.

Wow, that’s frightening! My biggest fear is falling as I cannot put any weight on my knees without excruciating pain- three months before having both knees replaced, I had both hips replaced so when I fall, down and can’t get up!!

Yes I’m the same. I can’t get up. I used to drag myself somewhere where there was a step and haul myself up but I have cmt as well and my arms are too weak to do that now.

I've had bilateral partial knee replacements. The right knee has never been good. Saw ortho today who said replacement fine. The inflammatory disorder is attacking rest of joint.

Oh dear,that’s not great, is it? I can understand why the disorder may attack the rest of your joint but I had TKR on both knees so nothing to attack there, soto speak? I think?!!
