Hi I used to get this with 2 of my fingers. It was so painful it made me cry at times especially if I knocked them accidentally. I used to massage the base of my fingers on the palm of my hand and eventually they released .They would remain sore for rest of the day but they were usually back to normal following day .Luckily I haven't had it happen for a while now. I'm on steroids, hydroxycloroquine tablets and bilimimab infusions, so maybe its that that helps it.hope your hands get better soon and not so painful x

Don't do any treatment, till they know what you have. I'm not sure this will help, but i will try. I started having problems with my hands after painting walls and other work around the home. The first thing that happened to me was stiffness, then i fell asleep on my bed with hands on top of my stomach. My older child came in to tell me something, when i awoke, i could not move my hands or arms, they felt no feeling, finally about 5-10 min. they started to tingle, i then said to daughter, it now feels like they (Both arms & hands) had felt like they had been under my body & fell asleep). Next, i finally got a referal from my Dr. to a hand Dr. The hand Dr. said (From an x-ray) that i had carpal tunnel, & arthritis. I also saw a nerve Dr. that told me i had spurs in the c area of the spine, (Top of spine in neck area), that was causing much of nerves to react. This was back in 2012. The dr's. still have not treated me for this problem. All i received from the hand dr. was a hand to wrist brace which i use a lot. My reg. dr. does nothing. I looked at all notes on my issues (Dr. i'm seeing now) through the system they have here. There are so many things on my record that are so wrong. I am looking for another doc as soon as i can find one that will listen to me and stop bandaid-ing my problems. Get a nerve test done, that test showed that i had many problems. Good luck to you

Does this happen after work or is it food related? Some foods can trigger it. Try gentle massaging. Acupressure is very good. Look for the pressure points on Google. My hands flare up after white wine. Had champagne after a party at home and my hands completely stiffened up. Have not touched white wine since.

So my advice is look for the triggers. Keep a food diary. Relax.....

There is something called trigger finger that you might read up on. I don't know if it could happen to all your fingers at one time. I had a trigger finger with my middle finger and it was easily solved with a minor surgery. They can do an injection into the palm of your hand but to be honest it hurts terribly bad and mine did not last for more than a couple of months. So when I went in for my second injection we talked about just doing surgery at that point. All they do is make a tiny incision in the palm of your hand and release the tendon that keeps getting stuck causing your finger or fingers to stick closed.
