Hey everybody,

I wanted to share another great podcast with you today.

Dr Gabor Mate joined Aubrey Marcus on his podcast to talk about the role that Childhood Trauma, Chronic Stress and Anxiety play in the onset of disease, symptom severity, and progression.

These factors are implicated in almost all diseases, but they seem to be extra prevalent as a trigger for Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I hope you enjoy it.

The first part of the podcast focuses on Addictions, but please listen to the whole thing because it will start to make more sense when he specifically starts to talk about Rheumatoid Arthritis later in the podcast:

Dr Gabor Mate is very well known in my city of Vancouver BC. He was the medical coordinator of the Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver General Hospital before he got involved helping drug addicts.

He currently works in the Vancouver DTE as a physician (a very scary place to be) He became famous in Canada for defending Insite . Insite is the only legal medically supervised place for addicts to inject heroine in North America, located it the DTE. Insite is still very contraversal here.

Anyways, Dr. Gabor Mate has a love hate relationship with Health Canada. In 2011 he was threatened prison by the federal crown prosecutor for using the illegal drug "Ayahuasca" as a treatment for addicts. The hallucinogenic Ayahuasca had not been fully studied at UBC or UVic when he was illegally treating his patients with this drug.... So Dr. Mate is known as a wonderful doctor who treats the scary addicts living in the DTE...., but he is also known for doing experiments on them too. We really don't know what to think of him here in Vancouver. Only time will tell... but...I really do hope he violated Canadian drug laws for the good of his patients.

Hey Cherub,

Hope you're having a good day.

I think we would be much closer to finding cures for Chronic Disease if our governments tried to help people like Dr Gabor Mate instead of trying to put barriers in their way.

The FDA is happy to approve drugs with side effects that include Death, but for some reason, they are reluctant to look into the medicinal benefits of things like Ayahuasca, which is a plant-based compound.

Ayahuasca has more in common with a Vitamin D supplement than an illegal drug.

In the last 100 years, the Pharmaceutical industry has failed to provide us with a single cure for Chronic Disease. This is an extremely poor set of results. We didn't even have mobile phones 100 years ago, but everybody has a supercomputer in their pocket now! Healthcare is the only modern industry which is still stuck in the past. It is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy behind where it should be.

I think Gabor Mate should be looked at as a pioneer instead of a radical or criminal.

In time, I know that things will change because the Healthcare burden is becoming too expensive to continue turning a blind eye.

Dr Mate has spent his entire life on the frontline of Healthcare and I think we need to take the opinions of people like him very seriously.

There don't appear to be any negative side effects of Ayahuasca so I am guessing that he did break the Canadian drug laws to try and help his patients. Ayahuasca doesn't cost much, so I can't think of a way he could have benefited from doing this.

I do hope that a cure is found for all diseases.

Yes the the hallucinogenic drug Ayahauasca is made from a plant compound, but so is heroine & cocaine & LSD....so because all these drugs are considered hallucinogenics they are stronger & more dangerous than Vitemin D.

The addicts of the DTE are in desperate need of healthcare, food,& shelter but these people are easily victimized too. Some people here consider them the walking dead and don't care what happens to them. I do hope Dr. Mate considers them human beings as many of us Vancouverites don't.
