Hi, just changed from Enberel to Benepali after 7 plus years problem free treatment . Had first injection last night and today I have been having awful muscle spasms around abdomen and ribs. Never had them before and was wondering if anyone else had experience of this? I have injected in abdomen as usual with same type of syringe.

I hope this reply is not needed now as you are ok but just in case, if it was me, I would phone the rheumatology nurse and report the changes. It could be something completely unrelated but when taking these sort of drugs, and particularly when changes are made, it is best to report to them asap.

Thank you for your reply. Have spoken to health care at home nurse and she gave me same advice. Spoke to rheumatology nurse and I have decided to see what happens when I inject next week. She was going to tell my consultant and would ring me back if he advised not to inject again. Haven't heard back so fingers crossed 🤞🏻!

Why did you switch?
Hi, changed following a letter sent out by hospital to all on Enberel .Talked about it with rheumatology nurse and agreed to give it a try as I was told would go back on Enberel if it didn't work out.
I'm so sorry that patients are put in your situation. Finding a drug that works is a painful journey and if you have found one that has worked well you should definitely not be asked to change! What was the reason presented to you?
Thank you. It was finances and that it was the same drug. I had watched the video on the NRAS website so I knew what I was doing but I thought I would give it a try.
There is already research comparing the effects of these drugs. I think it's always a good idea to gather all info before you decide. These drugs are comparable but effects not identical. Hope everything goes well.👍🏻xxSimba
