So I scared my husband yesterday...

I missed the curb at IKEA yesterday and fell. I hit the side of my neck on the steel post they have at the entrance, also my knees and somehow, my ribs. Today, I am a lump on the couch, trying to be still so that I don't hurt. Also, my son's godparents are coming to visit on Tuesday and I need to clean my house!

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Dani

I bet you gave yourself a fright too!

Have you managed to see someone to get checked out? Sounds like you really gave yourself a whack - it may be advisable to do so ?

Rest up and be kind to yourself ( and careful!).

Thanks for the good wishes! Fortunately for me, my husband is a special procedures tech and checked me over. Due to childhood trauma, it would really freak me out to have stranger examine my neck...the last time it required a whopping dose of valium First. If I don't feel better in a few days, I'll be seeing my primary care doc or one that my husband works with will make a housecall (hunting buddy)

Thanks again

That's good that he was there with you. And good if you need checking out there is someone you will be more comfortable with.

Hope you are feeling better soon

I am sure your visitors won't care the state of your house as they have come to see you all. They will be more worried about your fall than the state of your house,so don't stress darling and enjoy the visit.xxxxx

Absolutely! They will be more concerned that you're ok. Take it easy.

Forget the housework and rest! A messy home is the sign of a well love house!

Take it easy and don't worry about the house, your health comes first xxx

Ouch! Take it easy & rest up. The house will wait & if it's really messy by Monday evening then your husband will surely offer his expertise, no?! Give him a pinny & he'll be in heaven!😉

Oh Wow Dani - That is terrible. I am so sorry.. I have fallen more in the last two years than I had in my entire life combined and it is never good, but your experience sounds really rough. Here's hoping that you start to feel better soon. Good luck With the house cleaning

Sorry you experienced that and I hope you feel better soon! Nobody really cares about how a house looks unless you have roaches and rats running around (which I'm sure you probably don't lol). A clean toilet is all I would be worried about. :)

Must have been terrifying. Try pace whatever you do as you will feel very ouch for several days. I'm always missing my footing and worried I will fall. Even with a walking cane. Feel better soon. x

Oh Dani, I feel so badly for you. That sounds like it's gotta hurt!! I also can appreciate the feeling of needing to clean but knowing you can't. I'm about to have surgery on the 26th and I have some dear friends whom have offered to bring over some meals. My daughter and her three year old live with us, along with my nearly 20 year old son. They don't pull their own weight with cleaning and my husband works endless hours. I have begged my (fully grown adult CHILDREN) to help with the cleaning because I don't want my friends bringing food over to a messy house!!! I feel for you! Hope you get some pain and cleaning relief soon. Hugs!

Hi Everyone and thank you all for your care and concern! I feel very loved! The visit is over and done with and they never came to the house at all! But now my house is clean(for awhile anyway--LOL)and now I can rest and work on the baby blanket.

The visit went very well as we have all grown up! We had a great time--lunch, touristy things and then dinner with plans made to visit them in March. There was no "one-up-menship" this time! Just discussions of grandkids and commiseration over "adult" children (I hear you, Radiogirl!).

I still have a sore throat and sore hip from my fall but seem to be getting slowly better.

Thank y'all for being so caring! Hugs and chocolate for all!
