I'm very tired after humira. Unfortunately, this side effect hasn't eased. It has always worked well for me though, so I have tolerated it. How long are you tired for and is it manageable?

Hi sorry to hear that your still tired, i was on it for nearly 2 years with no problems then moved to a different country and had to wait 6 months before i could start again, but this time it is making me very tired the next day, although to be fair this is only my second injection after starting again so maybe i will just have to wait a bit longer,

If the side effects are bad or unbearable, speak with your doctor about changing biologics. Have a good look at yoir own bloodwork numbers and get on the computer. Look stuff up and see what the numbers mean. You even go as far as getting a hematological consult to discuss what things mean.

Just because you have RA, does not mean that humira is the correct drug for you. There are different biologics, Anakinra (interleukin 1 receptor antagonist), Actemra (interleukin 6 receptor antagonist). They work on different cytokines in the body to reduce inflammation.

tocilizumab (Actemra)

certolizumab (Cimzia)

etanercept (Enbrel)

adalimumab (Humira)

anakinra (Kineret)

abatacept (Orencia)

infliximab (Remicade)

rituximab (Rituxan)

This is a partial list for you to research.

For me Humira not only made me exhausted but gave me a horrible blistery rash on my hands and fingers. Had to stop after 6weeks.

Then a while later i started on Anakinra (interleukin 1) was on for 49 days with no reduction in CRP inflammation.

Then started on Tocilizumab (Actemra) crp inflammation went from around 159mg/L down to less than 0.2mg/L in 4 or 5 weeks.

Make sure your doctor is giving you all the information you want. Or even ger copies of your blood work each month and record what you did for the month and see how your numbers are. You may find a correlation between activities or food or something causes more inflammation and some things may reduce it.

Anyway

Good luck with the meds and some reason
