I was so proud celebrating my daughter's graduation last week. She completed her Masters degree while working full time and taking care of me. She is now an Occpational Therapist πŸŽ“

She is amazing! She's also running The Great North Run for NRAS this year πŸ’•

I love to crochet to keep my hands mobile and did graduation dollies for her and her friends. She's the one on the right in the picture 😊

Good to hear good news. and wonderful crochet! how do you do it? I had to stop my (basic) knitting and crochet when RA took hold. Do you have some tips to help?

Hi, I use circular needles if I'm knitting as the weight of the work stays on the cable and not on hands/wrists. I tend to do bulky/super chunky projects when knitting. When I crochet I use Clover Soft Touch hooks, they are the only ones that don't hurt my hands. My fingers tend to spasm and twist if I crochet for too long but I know now when to stop. It's so painful. I hope this helps and you can start again. It's a dying art xx

Thanks for the tips! I've never been much good with circular needles but will give it another go. And will try some soft hooks. I don't think my skill level could ever have been classed as art though!

You can knit flat on circular needles, you don't have to knit in the round. Here's a link, or you could follow a you tube tutorial x

Many, many congratulations to your daughter and her friends. You must be so very proud. Congratulations too on the beautiful dolls. Did you get a pattern? I also do knitting and crochet although I'm not as quick as before. I'm also making amigurimi dolls and really enjoy it.

Congratulations to your daughter Bernese, she must make you so proud. Love your little crocheted dollies, even the hair's the same colour as in the pic!

Wishing her luck on the Great North Run & please thank her for doing it to raise funds for the NRAS. x
