Avara

Hi All,

My doc told me that he will be switching my methotrexate to avara... I get very sick with Mtx with horrible nausea and tiredness and a horrible feeling in my gut for days...also my hair has fallen out in drastic lots.

Is avara better to stomach??

It is great for me but I take at night with a glass of water to push it down. MTX caused me huge hair loss but LEF has left it alone and put me into remission. MTX was like having hot flushes just weird but not with LEF. It does take a while to work though and can seem to make things worse for a while. Then bingo that pain goes, the cloud lifts and life is normal again.

I think you mean Arava which is Leflunomide & if you can't cope with Mtx it it often works well!
