Painkiller without co codamol presant

Hi if been taking do codamol for pain in my legs..I'm not allowed to take them what other pain killed is there without co codamol in it..ta

Hi and welcome. Is it a non opiate based painkiller you're looking for? I used to take Nefopam which does not have any opiates in it (although I was dubious as to how well it worked!). I had really bad reactions to cocodamol and Tramadol, yet found that Oromorph (liquid morphine) suited me best and had the least side effects). What is the reason you're not allowed to take cocodamol? Mhairi

I'm due a medical for my driving licence it was 2 over if been eating co codamol and co drydamol cuse off the pain my.level was 4.4 shulda been lower than 4.4..I was distraught

I think it depends on what pain you have in your legs, if it's nerve pain then pregabalin is what helps me to an extent.

Ask your pharmacist (or your doctor) what would be best for the type of pain that you have.

Co-codamol has both codeine and paracetamol in it. You can the same drugs in different (higher dose of codeine) combinations of strength - but you would need to substitute the new one for what you take now. Or take a NSAID but that might need gastric protection.
