I took Humira for 14 months until it stopped working for me. The only side effect was that I got really bad headaches for a few days after each injection but these got less each time and after about 2 months, the headache stopped and everything was fine. Humira worked pretty quickly for me, probably started to feel the benefit after about 1-2 months. Good luck, it's great if it works for you. Clemmie

How do I feel? Wonderful. I've posted often that Humira was a magic bullet, all of my symptoms clearingwithing 2-3 weeks and I've never had any problems with it. It is potent at suppressing your immunity so avoid unpasteurised eggs/milk/ unwashed salads/red meat and so on. Plus avoid colds ans flu like the plague! Yep, avoid the plague as well!!

Hi Harvey,

Hope you're having a good day.

Did you experience any side effects after taking oral Methotrexate?

In theory you should experience less side effects than what you experienced whilst taking Methotrexate.

I just thought I'd chip in with that so you could maybe use your experience with Methotrexate as a measuring stick for how you might feel on Humira.

From what I've learned the vast majority of people have a very positive experience with Humira so the odds are definitely good that it will help you a lot.

Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!

Yes, I have been taking Humira injections for 16 months ( had to stop taking Enbrel). Haven't had much of a problem, no nasty sting when I inject ether. The only downside I have is an upsurge in hay fever type symptoms, which are managed by medication. Good luck, and hope it works for you.

First, don't read the "side effects sheet". If you go on WebMD and read about asprin, you'd never take another one. As my rheumy told me "even if a person in that study dies in a car accident, it is STILL reported in the study as a "death". And they don't have to specify." I've been on Humira for almost 12 years. The day I take it, sometimes, I get a little sicky at the tummy, but it passes quickly. Everyone reacts different. The only drug, if I could go back, that I would have outright refused would be methotrexate, which scared my lungs and I now have Rheumatoid Lung disease and I'm terminal. Take the Humira. If you have a bad reaction, tell your rheumy and try something else. The chances that you'll end up in a wheel chair are much much greater than the chances that you'll get Cancer from the Humira. Does it happen? yes it has, but its rare.
