Hand and Foot Cramps...?!

I started Humira with my MTX a week ago. I'm not sure if there is a relationship...

My symptoms have taken an odd turn. Around mid-day, I have hand and foot cramps. It's as if my hands and feet have charley horse cramping. It lasts the better part of the afternoon/ evening. It seems like after some use (like young or making dinner) they cramp up.

Has anyone else experienced this?? What can I do?

Hi Blythegirl, Not sure if the cramping is due to MTX, I get it at any time of the day/night and have been on numerous DMARDS and Biologics. I guess it could just be yet another part of RA and/or the meds. I just try to make sure I'm well hydrated and when it happens try to stretch it out (if that makes sense). Hope you find some relief soon. xo

Hi Blythegirl,

I had that when I was first put on prednisolone. Once my dose went below ten mg it seemed to dissapear. The only thing that made it better at the time was stretching my hands and feet. I also ate a lot of bananas, as potassium in them may help (and I love bananas). Hope you feel better soon.

I had this problem this evening. I have been on Methotrexate a few months and started Humira Monday. I got cramp in my right foot before I sarted Methotrexate but this evening after taking it I got it in my foot and right hand at the same time.
