Hi just wondering if anyone else has had the experience of their fingers locking seems to happen to me when I have been doing something for a while.
Do your hands or fingers ever lock?: Hi just wondering... - NRAS
Do your hands or fingers ever lock?
Yes, it's usually when I'm trying to clean fingers seem to get stuck together
Hi Mary
Yes, mine lock regularly and usually result in my dripping things or getting stuck in door handles!
Yup, my index fingers would lock making me lose grip of things in my hand. I was recently told that it has something to do with the overextension of the tendons in my finger. When I have my finger out straight, I see a little dip in the skin at the back of the finger (near the first joint). I was told that was because of the tendon stretching out too much. I was given finger splints to wear in order to avoid the overextension because it is apparently the start of a swan neck deformity, but I am not sure if that applies to everyone. I would say it is definitely worth getting it looked at by your doc/therapist.
The middle of my left hand sometimes has a tendency to lock against my palm for no apparent reason. This started just a few weeks ago, and have no idea why. xo
Mine do that especially when I'm busy cleaning or trying to hold/carry something. So far no cups of coffee have been thrown or dropped but watch this space
