Professor Iain McInnes - Talking about RA and what's behind the smile
Hi Shivam. Big gold stars to Professor McInnes for sharing the message of compassion for those with Rheumatoid and other related diseases. I do hope that his colleagues get to see it too.
Personally I've been quite lucky to have reasonably sympathetic rheumatologists to date - but none have had time to open that door beyond a small ajar so far. In Scotland the talk is of Realistic Medicine - following a report with this title by the Chief Medical Officer. When I hear or see it referred to I can't help smiling. The endeavours are very much in keeping with professor McInnes's here - but the reality for most of us..?!!
I've shared it on the Lupus HU and my Facebook page because it's just as relevant to all with rheumatic diseases of course.
Well said that man. Yep, my main goal is to be able to hold my own hairdryer again!
Lovely and helpful to hear this from the Professor. Often we can feel we are a bunch of blood test results and DAS scores rather than human beings and get so used to saying 'Im fine' that we forget it's not helpful in the clinic situation. Of course in ten minutes it's difficult to put into words so worth prioritising the most pressing issues at the beginning of the appointment. Thank you for this helpful video.
Thank you for posting this.
