A discreet pod lift from my living room to the first floor has transformed my life and I am so grateful to my family. I don't use it all the time. When I'm having a bad flare, it's a God-send, but I mainly use it for carrying stuff so that I have both hands free to grab the hand rail as I go up and down stairs. This has been invaluable over the last two weeks as I prepared for my open studio. It was a great success, though I think the 280 visitors were utterly heroic to get to one open studio, let alone several!
The weaver showing with me didn't do as well as usual; it's hardly the weather for trying on scarves, however finely woven. I was happy with my sales, including cards, the profit from which is going to NRAS during National Arthritis Week.
Some people love this heat, but my deep empathy for those who find it utterly debilitating.
Here are three paintings based on the Wetlands in Barnes. I'm thrilled that two have sold.
