I had a CT scan just before Christmas, together with a dye. They put an cannula in my arm. Wear loose fitting clothes without any metal and you shouldn't have to get undressed. As this was my first, I didn't know you had to have your arms outstretched behind you, I found this uncomfortable and would tell them before next time. It didn't take to long about 15 minutes. I had a headache for a couple of hours after, although they say no side effects. Good luck. X

I too had one a couple of months ago. Same as GIgi71 with a dye injected beforehand which was fine (slight metallic taste in the back of my throat and I felt as if I was going to pee - which nurse said was common sensation but you don't)

Nurse was also helpful in arranging things so my arm was supported behind my head - especially as I had to hold the dye container. Didn't take long and all they found was a single small nodule, so nothing alarming.

I was scanned at initial diagnosis and had some floaty fibrous bits in my lungs. Was put on intravenous steroids for a few days to help clear them. I had another scan a few months ago (10 years on) as I was feeling breathless but that must have been ok. So the scan itself should be straightforward and not too unpleasant and I hope the doctors are looking primarily for any inflammation side effects. Best wishes.
