New carpet laid and now i am suffering for it...........

Well yesterday we had a new carpet laid in the lounge. The men who came to lay it were very efficient and fast. Then i moved the tv table back into the lounge and put the tv back and then i went into the garage to get three chairs indoors to help hubby as he was at the hospital for his heart (thats another story) Anyway guess who has been down here all night with only two hours sleep. This morning i am sore and so so very tired and fatigued and my eyes seem to be doing strange things thanks to lack of sleep.xxxx

Oh no , sorry to hear that you're so sore . It that " knowing our limits" thing shin, isn't it? I know when I'm feeling a bit better , I think I can do a multitude of things- only to find out, sometimes within hours, that my body totally disagrees!

Rest and take things easy today and I hope you begin to feel better soon Sylvi .

Oh Sylvia, I was just thinking of you,as haven't seen a post for awhile doh. Then you pop up with this, sorry about hubby, but you know we are no longer designed for humping and dumping items such as chairs, tables, sofa, carpets. I know you were only trying to help xxxx so now you got to pay the Piper, sending warm thoughts your way ,warm I said girl not naughty. Hope it gets better through out the day,and your eyes stop seeing things, which aren't there, unless its this Weeks lotto numbers. Craig x

Sylvi........ What are we going to do with you?

I sometimes wonder if we all overdo it when we feel well because it means we can forget RA for a while?

Just sit watching that TV set today & REST,

Hope you perk up soon.

Aw Sylvia, lovely carpet new alsways makes you feel good, but hey ho - 2 steps forward 3 steps back.

Do you have a recovery bag? It's something to help you relax that you put items in. I have recently discovered that one of the plug-in air fresheners have got a night time lavender, which is meant to help you relax. Others put in a Dvd, a hot water bottle, ear plugs, eye covers, that can be warm or cold or just black. A food that contains trytophan to help you relax. High Trytophan foods include nuts, seeds, tofu, cheese, red meat, chicken, turkey, fish, oats, beans, lentils, and eggs. The recommended daily intake for tryptophan is 4mg per kilogram of body weight or 1.8mg per pound. Not sure how much is in each food or how to work it out, but maybe that's why in the Victorian days if you were unwell they made you possets, which was a milk and egg based or egg nog. So may be worth a try.

What do others do?

Well done, that is such good relaxation therapy. Just thought of one thind the Latin abbreviation Drs use for Treatment is Rx don't know what it means but I think that is also a good abbreviation for us to use for Relaxation. Am now going to see if I can dind the meaning of Rx
