Gloves!

Hi All,

Hope everyone is staying warm. I have RA, and in the winter my fingers get very sore in the cold. Can anyone recommend gloves that have really kept them warm against biting cold e.g. when cycling?

Thank you!

These might not be the best for cycling not sure but it helps with the pain and I use them with the cold, Amazon have amazing selection, just type in arthritis gloves they grey with the tops cut off and they are made tighter to help with the pain and blood flow around £15 I've had them for years.

Thermal gloves will keep your fingers warm on the bicycle.xxxxx

The liners are wonderful, they keep fingers warm ( not hot) ... use them under your own gloves.

Found the heated ski gloves good but very bulky.

Use glove liners, available in most sports shops for biking, winter sports etc. Very light (best ones are silk) and just pop under your normal gloves. I use them all the time in winter as layers work much better that just one pair of thick cumbersome gloves.

I use compression gloves under another pair of ordinary gloves or mittens. Works well for me. I think they are the same ones that jess_doyle has recommended from Amazon, so that's two of us who find them good. :)

You can buy gloves with batteries in to keep your hands warm!

Idiot that I am - I bought some from Amazon.....it wasn't until they arrived I realised I hadn't read the ad properly......they had to be plugged in to a USB to stay warm! But at only £6 you could buy a pair to start off with warm hands!

Try looking on Amazon there are lots of heated gloves there!

I have arthritis gloves from Amazon too, I paid £10 for mine and they're brilliant. I've just ordered a second pair. Mine have gripped palms too, great for trying to open jars etc.

For cycling I use thin thermal gloves under my cycle gloves, make sure you put your gloves on when your hands are warm too, it makes a big difference in staying warm.

First thing, you need windproof gloves when cycling! Unlined fleece gloves are useless.

Go to a bike shop try on the gloves to see which ones fit best. I have several pairs depending on the weather I choose the ones best for the day.

This may or may not help... my brother used to have a pair of over gloves which Velcro onto the handle bars of his mother bike and he would slip his gloved hands into these over gloves for double protection in cold weather - somehow the brakes etc would be on the inside of the over gloves.

All the best
