NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 12th September 2016

Great Yarmouth NRAS Group

The Great Yarmouth & Waveney NRAS Group meet in the ‘Buzz Room’ of the Louise Hamilton Centre, James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 6LA from 5:30pm-7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings will sometimes alternate between a guest speaker and social meetings, please see below for details:

Mid Somerset NRAS Group

Meetings are held at the Taunton Rugby Club, Hyde Lane, Bathpool, Taunton TA2 8BU. Please note that some meetings are held on a Saturday morning but most meetings are held on a Tuesday evening. Please see details below for specific dates and times:

Tuesday 13th September - 7pm - Guest speaker: Paul Thorpe, Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon will present 'Spinal problems in patients with rheumatoid disease'

Weston-super-Mare NRAS Group

This group have a new meeting location! Meetings are now held in Conference Room 1 at The Campus, Highlands Lane, Weston-super-Mare, BS24 7DX monthly on a Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm (unless otherwise stated).

September 14th - Sarah, OT at Gooding Disability Services will give a talk on different gadgets and how to preserve our joints and energy

Worcester NRAS Group

Bi-monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm at the Lyppard Hub in Ankerage Green, Warndon Villages, Worcester WR4 0DZ unless otherwise stated.

14th September - Guest speaker: Ms. Anna Moon, Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon

Blackpool NRAS Group

The Blackpool and District NRAS Group (BADRAG) meet in the cafeteria at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, Lytham St. Annes, FY8 1PB from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on the third Thursday of alternate months.

15th September - Guest speakers: Angela and Joan, Specialist Rheumatology Nurses will present - 'New Developments in RA'

Oxford NRAS Group

This group is co-ordinated by Sue with the support of the Rheumatology Team. Meetings are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford OX3 7LD on Tuesdays every other month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm unless otherwise stated. Look for the NRAS direction posters to the room.

**Thursday 15th September - Guest speaker, Professor Peter Taylor will present: ‘Exciting Research to identify the right treatment for the right patient at the right time’

North Durham NRAS Group

The group meets 4 times a year at All Saints Catholic Church, Kitswell Road, Lanchester, DH7 0JH on a Thursday from 7:00pm-9:00pm unless otherwise stated. There will also be a raffle and refreshments at the meetings.

15th September - 'Exercising with RA' - featuring video clips produced by NRAS and 'Gadgets used at Home' - please bring along gadgets you find useful

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
