Arthroscopy for symptom control

My right ankle is very inflamed and it won't bend which is causing me lots of issues when walking. It's also causing extreme pain, not only in my actual ankle but it's causing referred pain. I had an open surgery to remove a lump of bone some years ago and at the same time, they 'scoped my ankle which gave me a lot of relief.

Ortho has suggested another arthroscopy to remove the inflamed tissue. Obviously, I can't have repeated surgeries but it was 5 years ago and if I had to have one every few years, it wouldn't be such a hardship.

Has anyone else had an arthroscopy to manage inflammation and damage as a result of RA? How did it work for you?

Thanks in advance.
