My hands are so painful this morning I may have to resort to a Tommy Tippee cup.

Have a word with your rheumy nurse.  If your biologics are going to take some time to be organised and then begin working you may need something else to help in the meantime.   Hopefully once your new treatment is started you will see an improvement.    Try ice or heat whichever feels best.    Farm

Thanks Farm I could not even pick a cup of tea this morning without the risk of scalding myself. Heat works best for me and I use Voltarol Gel. The fingers on my right hand are swan necked with the left hand going the same way.

I am hoping I hear soon I seem to have out my life on hold waiting for a phone call or letter. If i hear nothing today I am going to ring the nurse tomorrow.

Hi Popsmith, Black and Blue does not sound good. I know your RD, like mine is not controlled are you waiting for biologics as well? I seem to remember you where.

There must be enough of us to get discount on Tommy Tippee mugs.!!!

Well... not with alcohol but my father in law loves his gin & years ago when I could tolerate alcohol better I preferred it to anything else & it's quite scented! Vodka's known as the secret drinkers drink as it had no particular odour, oops, not a label you'd want so scratch my suggestion lol!

Not sure how to react to that, I take it it's positive!!

Oh yes a definite positive. What is the inflammation gel you use, I know you have mentioned it on here somewhere. Went into the pharmacist today to get some and could not remember the name.

Voltorol used to help but not any longer.

Hope you are feeling better and the headache has improved.

That's ok then! Pernaton Gel. It's not an inflammation gel as such it's labelled as "For Joint Massage" but it relieves pain so the result is similar but it's all natural & unlike Voltarol you can use it even if you take NSAIDs I was assured by or Pharmacist you can use it with any meds, there's no interaction. It's "green lippen mussel extract gel with high-grade Glycosaminoglycans, a naturally occurring Glucosamine." If you look online you'll find where you can buy it & further info.

Headache not been as bad today thanks but will still keep my GP appointment as it does this & then the next morning I won't be able to move the thing. Thanks for asking & hope you're ok. Collect sulfasalazine tomorrow so hope my feet will be happier in a few months. x

So do I I empathise,my feet are like balloons at the moment and hot walking is an effort at the best of times without the additional swelling.Hope the sulfalazine kicks in quickly.

Add will certainly try the

Massage gel.x

Morrison's have a water bottle with like a hook on the top. I use one of these at night. Drink a lot during the night. Without this bottle would be swimming. They look ok to use too during the day.

You would feel like a jogger with your water bottle. 😊

Try the coffee mugs that people use for take away drinks. They have a lid and often some way of drinking through them. When I have been in plaster they are very useful as you can hop with them without spilling! (well as long as you don't fill it to full)

Thanks OldTimer. That is a skill hopping and holding a cup.
