Is rheumatoid Arthritis classes as a disability mine is still active 20 years on.

RA can be a disability, but it depends how it affects you. It's not an automatic thing.

And the criteria for different things like Blue Badges, or PIP payments or attendance allowances aren't identical, so you may or may not qualify for one of all of them.

Yes it is classed as a disability and covered by the 2010 Equality Act.

How it effects you though varies from person to person.

If your RA was well controlled on medication and didn't disable you in any way, then no, it isn't a disability. Disability is about how a disease or injury impacts on your ability to do normal daily activity. Having a "long term condition", which RA is, is different from "being disabled" (though of course you can have both).

I've got RA and I claim pip but like stated above it depends on how it affects your daily life. Technically if it affects your daily living 4 out of 7 days you may be classed as disabled.. and there are many things you will and won't be eligible for.. could call CAB and ask them
