Sheffield area volunteers need to help Masters Product Design Student

NRAS likes to try and help students where possible and have been asked by Charlotte Simmons [e-mail] to reach out to people with RA in the Sheffield area to help her with her final year project.

Charlotte's Request:

I’m a final year master product design student at Sheffield Hallam. I suffer with RA and have based my final year project around improving the cooking experience and independence for people with hand disabilities.

I am designing a cooking pan range which will improve the struggle individuals have with low dexterity and also designing an arthritis cookbook recommending recipe’s that will help make common tasks less painful and aim to make the cooking experience therapeutic; designing meals with participants and covering a degree of hand exercise.

I’m looking for willing participants who will be able to work with me in providing and help designing my project. I am wanting to observe individuals cooking while interviewing on top tips and favourite recipe’s and creating their coping strategies sharing with other arthritis sufferers
