Numb jaw
I get that kind of thing. Does it hurt like hell when you try and move it but loosen if you persevere with the movement?
Liane
Hi Liane yes it aches and feels numb! but does loosen and get better! Thank goodness! I am sure you can get RA in jaw but some doctors say not!
I've always assumed it was the arthritis causing it in some way but I don't know for sure. I take a dose (not too high) of either co-codamol or co-dydramol which lets me move it normally without pain for a few hours and then it's gone by the time the painkillers wear off.
It feels like when I have had an anaesthetic at the dentist!!
The jaw joint is a joint like any other joint. No reason why it shouldn't be affected. My dentist always knows when mine is!
Thanks for reply it's just that mine happens often and leaves me with a numb jaw!
