Knee surgery jokes

My amusing surgeon was joking about making soup with our ends of bones. Another one asked if we'd seen that wild looking dog in the hospital grounds who'd enjoyed the mornings bones.

I quite liked that.

More seriously, my partner donated bits of bones for children's hospital. Apparently he has quite big bones

All pretty shudder making!

Those who have character tend to have a dark sense of humour l've found, particularly anaesthetists for some reason. I suppose it's a sort of coping mechanism having such a responsible job & maybe it's their way of putting patients at ease too.

Pleased it's over for you Cathie & trust your recovery is a good one.

Thanks. Nothing much is happening here but I'm trying to get the best out of things!

My standing joke forever has been "Men. You can't bury them in the garden, and they're too big to make into soup." I didn't know, though, that it's possible to donate bone. That's very cool, though definitely shudder-making!

He wants to donate his body to science, so maybe the bone was connected to that!

My husband had a bone transplant, part of left hip became part of right elbow. The trouble he had with the DVLA!!! he eventually wrote that to them, and back came his license in days.I love this post so funny.

Grim, but maybe the surgeons etc need this to see them through!

DVLA must be humourless bunch!

When I was in hospital, trying to decide what I wanted from the unappetising menu, the catering person suggested the soup "it's thick and has got quite a bit of body in it!" Very Sweeny Todd!

Hope you are feeling better soon and I agree medics tend to have a down to earth attitude!

Thanks allanah. It's odd to be in an improv g situation even though it's very slow.

Isn't it wonderful how humour helps us cope? Sometimes a good "belly laugh" is what we all need to keep us sane. I think your doctor is wonderful to make a scary sitituation funny :)

I wish you a speedy recovery Cathie!! Keep laughing :)

Take care

Sue
