Does anyone know if you can get finger supports? I have wrist and knee ones but one of my fingers is painful and lumpy and I wondered if there was any way of supporting it?
Finger support: Does anyone know if you can get finger... - NRAS
Finger support
Go to your chemist as they will have them. I don't know if you can get them from the nhs or not,but i know the chemist does them.xxxxx
I use Imak Arthritis Gloves which I find comforting when my hands are sore. Not sure how much actual support they provide as you can still move your fingers, but if it feels better to me then I'll believe they work! I find the finger splints too restrictive.
You could ask your Rheumy team, or Occupational health,or physio if you have one. Or as suggested try your local chemist. Though I get my 'helpful things splints etc' from amazon. Hope this helps. X
Hi Becky,
Like others have said you can get supports at the chemist, or the arthritis gloves which i found helped with the pain, but definitely don't give support.
I was sent to occ health for supports for my fingers. If u get a really good one they can mold supports for you so that they are a custom fit. You do have to be careful with these as extreme heat can effect them but the nurse gives you loads of info on how to care for them,
There are also ready made supports that look like a ring which sits either side of the joint, unfortunately I couldnt get these on.
Good luck, I hope you get something soon.
Ruth
I was given various moulds for fingers and wrists from the physio at the hospital. Ask for a referral
