I had an appoint with the RA nurse today. She noticed I had a tremor in my middle finger. After asking the Dr to see me I was diagnosed with "benign neuropathic tremor"
Has anyone heard of this ?

I've had thumb tremble that's lasted for hours and scared me out of my wits. But for once, Dr Google was pretty reassuring. I've not heard of what you have but I think the word 'benign' sounds quite encouraging ........
Thank you for your reply. Yes it is a good word. The problem with this is usually gets worse as you get older. I must admit I haven't had a good week so didn't take it all in x
I think thats probably doctor speak for "probably something nerve related and not serious or worth investigating further".
I have same thing in one of my toes sometimes - hence Twitchytoes! The podiatrist initially called it a Morton's neuroma but these usually hurt whereas mine just trembles a lot - especially at night.
He felt the tremor for himself and said he can only think that it's caused by inflammation pressing on the Morton's nerve. Sounds a bit similar to your trembling finger - and yes benign is good of course but I don't know whether it relates to RA or not or whether it will worsen over time.
