Bruising on Sulphasalazine

Hi everyone,

I have been on Sulphasalazine for just over a week now and I have some unexplained bruising. I have decided to stop taking them, and tomorrow I will phone my rheumatologist nurse for advise. Has anyone else had the same problems with Sulphasalazine ?

Hi,

I've been on sulfasalazine for over a year now and yes I have unexplained bruises. I also have fibromyalgia and can sometimes get odd bruises from that, so difficult to know what causes them.

My advice would be to not just stop taking your meds but talk to rheumy nurse first.

I also have sulphasalazine and iv always got bruises, I don't think it will be the tablets, I put mine down to having a low immune system as my dad has kidney failure and also low immune system and he bruises too but doesn't have the same medication x
