NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 11th May 2015

Great Yarmouth NRAS Group

The Great Yarmouth & Waveney NRAS Group meet in the ‘Buzz Room’ of the Louise Hamilton Centre, James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 6LA from 5:30pm-7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month.

Meetings alternate between a guest speaker and social meetings, please see below for details:

Mid Somerset NRAS Group

Meetings are held at the Taunton Rugby Club, Hyde Lane, Bathpool, Taunton TA2 8BU. In 2015 winter meetings will be held bi-monthly on a Saturday morning and summer meetings will be held on a Tuesday evening.

12th May 7pm - 'Vaccinations / Travel Vaccines and Immune Suppressed' by Wendy Turner, Nurse Practitioner

Southend-on-Sea NRAS Group

Thelma co-ordinates this NRAS group. Meetings take place bi-monthly at the Salvation Army Citadel (opposite

Morrisons), 146-148 London Road, Hadleigh, Essex, SS7 2PF on a Tuesday.

12th May 7:00pm – 8:30pm— Please bring your favourite gadget that helps you in your day to day life to share with the group

Surrey NRAS Group

This group meets at St. Francis Church Hall, 121 Upper Chobham Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU15 1EE bi-monthly on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Meetings are open to anyone living with RA, JIA and inflammatory arthritis.

12th May— A hygienist will be discussing with the group about caring for oral hygiene whilst living with an

inflammatory condition as well as dexterity issues.

Oxford NRAS Group

Meetings are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford OX3 7LD on

Tuesdays every second month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

12th May - Sarah Manderson, Rheumatology Nurse Specialist will present ‘Diet – Facts & Myths’

Mid Cornwall NRAS Group

The Mid Cornwall NRAS group - PIRATES (people involved in RA training, education and support) meet at Carnon Downs Village Hall, Tregye Road, Carnon Downs, Truro TR3 6JQ from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

13th May— ‘The Expert Patient Programme (EPP)’ by Paul Haines

Weston-super-Mare NRAS Group

This group meets monthly on a Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Asda Community Centre, Asda Stores Ltd,

Phillips Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3UZ.

May 13th - Bob Hill, Sport and Activities Lifestyles Development Officer, will be giving a general talk on opportunities

Worcester NRAS Group

Bi-monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm at the Lyppard Hub in Ankerage Green, Warndon Village, Worcester WR4 0DZ.

13th May - Guest speaker: Lisa Preston from ShoeMed will present 'Advice on the Correct Footwear'

Colchester NRAS Group

This group meet on the second Thursday of every other month at the St. John's Church Community Centre, St. John's Close, Colchester CO4 0HP (parking available on site) from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

14th May - Guest speaker: Pilates instructor, Jackie Parry will be talking about the benefits of pilates and doing a demonstration

Cumbria NRAS Group

Heart of England (Solihull) NRAS Group

This NRAS group meets on the second Thursday of every other month at Broomfield Hall, Union Road, Solihull B91 3DH (The British Legion) from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

North East NRAS Group

The North East Group run quarterly educational meetings which are held in the Education Centre, Level 1,

Freeman Hospital, High Heaton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE7 7DN from 5.30pm-8.00pm.

East Dorset NRAS Group

The East London NRAS group are holding meetings in the meeting room at the Kobi Nazrul Centre, 30 Hanbury Street, London E1 6QR. Closest to Aldgate East tube and underground stations and Whitechapel and Shoreditch High Street overground stations.

The Preston and District NRAS group meet in the Reception area at the Minerva Health Centre, Lowthorpe Road, Deepdale, Preston, PR1 6SB. Evening meetings take place throughout the year on a Thursday from 6:30pm-8:00pm, please see below for dates and speakers.
