Low blood sugar on sulfa?

I'm type 2 diabetic, and I'm finding my sugars much lower than usual. I've only just increased my dose the next increment (500 mg twice a day) and I've had to drop my insulin. Is this a normal response? Thanks,

Bat

Hi, it didn't mine but that's a nicer side effect if it takes it to normal! Keep checking them and call the GP or your diabetic nurse maybe if they go too low and you hypo. Xxxx

Keep some dextrose sweets near you just in case tho!

Yeah, I think I'll do that. I certainly wouldn't mind ditching the insulin!

Indeed that sounds pretty good. I am just about to have more steroids ( u get them before ritiximab !) so it will be swings and roundabouts again!

Are you moving around more at the moment ? Just thinking if ur feeling a big better on the sulpha maybe u r moving more than before ie low sugars? Just a thought.

Love the photo, where is it?

I'm definitely moving around more (yay prednisone!) my sulfa dose is still pretty low, but between the two I'm definitely in much less pain. The thing is that my blood sugar takes a dip after my evening dose, even if I'm not moving around. The photo is the Okanagan valley looking southeast. :) I thought I'd share some of my bit of Canada.

It looks stunning. Maybe your dose of insulin needs to be lower at evening meal. Have a chat with the docs , mine allow me to vary doses as needed. X
