The Rheumatology Department and Joint & Spine Research Team at Altnagelvin Area Hospital would like to invite you to attend an information evening at which they will launch several patient groups. The main speaker, Professor Ian Bruce, Professor of Rheumatology and NIHR Senior Investigator at Arthritis Research UK, will present “Rheumatoid Arthritis: Is prevention better than cure?"

During the evening they will inform you about their new Rheumatoid Arthritis Research Advisory and Ankylosing Spondylitis Research Advisory Groups. They are looking to hear about your own personal insight into your condition as this will help them to design better research projects in the future.

For those of you who don’t feel ready to join those sorts of groups, also being launched that evening will be two patient groups and representatives from from both NRAS and the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS) will be in attendance.

Brilliant, something at long last from my part of the world. i have been attending the Rhuematology Department now for four years and know the great work that is done there. I know I never would have survived if I didn't have Dr Armstrong and my Rheumy Nurse Bronagh Grant to fall back on in my really bad days. Derry is a very lucky place to have these wonderful people here to support us.

I will be attending the information evening as I have been through all the Bio's that are available to me and will be interested to know what might be coming in the near future for me and those lie me. Thanks so much for your help.

Wonderful I am looking forward to meeting the team at Altnagelvin and will be at the meeting in the evening so do please make yourself known to me.

If we have enough patients interested NRAS are hoping to get an NRAS group established in Derry.

See you there

First visit to Derry but not Northern Ireland. I know Belfast reasonably well.
