Hi everyone one I have RA for the passed 10years am on Cimzia my rhemothology want me to try and combine it with metherax is anyone on this combination please I need some advice thanks.

This is a normal combination. Normally your are on methotrexate before starting Cimzia. Have your used methotrexate before?

I have been on Cimzia for 2 years with 10mg methotrexate. Previously I was on 25mg. I have had no problems with this combination.

I am on the same combo but with methotrexate of 8 mg. it's working !

Thanks scottishlad I was on methotrexate 7.5mg tablet before but it's always makes m feel sick so I hv to stop ,I start using Cimzia over a year ago I went to c my rhemothology today I start my methotrexate 10mg I hope this will make m feel better once again thanks for ur advice

I have been lucky and had very few side-effects from MTX. I understand that some people take the tablets before going to bed so that they sleep through the worst nausea symptoms.

I think that it might worth starting a new thread asking how people have dealt with nausea. Also ask your rheumy team for advice.

Are you taking folic acid. Different combinations are prescribed to help with the side-effects. I was already on folic acid 5mg per day before starting MTX and now miss my folic acid tablet on the day I take my MTX. If you take them on the same day the effect of the MTX is reduced.

Thanks Scottishlad am not taking d tables cuz they make m feel sick am injecting myself yes am on folic acid

I am new to RA...the doctor has prescribed me...Rheumatrex and aspirin..no idea about the combination of medicines you are taking.

Stuartkneen is in the US Boo25. Maybe his Rheumy's prescribed aspirin as pain relief alongside his MTX? Different brand names to consider too, Rheumatrex is a brand name there for MTX.
