I have RA in my hands, which makes doing bra up at the back difficult. Am trying to find simple flesh coloured (not white) front fastening bras, that will help with this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem, and found a soloution?

Hiya RainyDays & welcome. I have some t shirt bras, 2 of each black, white & nude with a magnetic front fastener which are brilliant but unfortunately as they were bought in Spain not much use for you. They were really reasonable, hence so many as I went back once I knew the fit was ok & bought 5, & were from Aldi (their weekly specials). I've kept my eye out for them here but not seen them yet though it may be worth remembering as they've lasted really well & kept their shape. I have another one in burgundy, by Triumph I think, but that's more difficult to fasten as I've to line the two plastic pieces together & click but I struggle with that one & my h has to fasten it, somewhat defeating the object. Have you thought of putting your bra on back to front & fastening it then twisting it round? I found this figleaves.com/uk/product/sp..., it looks a similar fastening to my Triumph one but being Spanx it would be a considered purchase for me!

Hope you find something suitable, it's great when you find something you can fasten yourself!

I like the Glamorise range which have some front-fastening bras, they can be quite pricey but great quality. I've also discovered the no fastening bra tops available. Sainsbury's Tu have them, I'm sure there are lots available, and they're really inexpensive.

I'd never even thought about trying a front fastening bra but I'm sure it would make life a lot easier. Watching this thread with interest, thanks for the tip x

Hi Rachel,

I put mine on back to front with the fastenings in front then swing it around to the back. Only way I can do it. Hope that helps

I also just do my bra up in the front and swivel it round. No need to go to the expense of buying new ones!

Hi, have you tried the pull up bra's? they come in all colours including nude. I have bought them from QVC, JD Williams and they are not expensive. Hope this helps.

I, too, bought these from QVC. They are comfortable which matters most to me. I have always been overwhelmingly uncomfortable in most bras but these are really great. Look nice under thin T-shirts too.

Aldi have something similar to the Genie bra, if that's the type you have angel-delight. Saw them this morning £4 .99 I think. No use for me, but could be worth a look if you like that style.

I was actually helping someone else as they are the only ones I can wear. I do have the Genie bra but found ones similar to what you were saying, I don't think I have found any for as little as £4.99 so thank you for letting me know. I find them easier than trying to fasten a bra at the front and then having to switch around to the back. I am sorry that they are no use to you. Just been clearing up & came across the brochure. They're in black or white & sizes 10-20 if it helps. My m-i-l used to wear that style as the were so much easier for her to get on & off when she started with Parkinson's but she was first in the queue when the were giving em out! I'm the opposite & why they're no good for me, I need all the help I can get so I don't look as if I'm walking backwards. There's little difference between my back & my front!!

I'm sorted, bought some cycling gloves half price at £2.49. Fleece lined & grippy palms, easily pleased lol!

Have u tried the Genie Bra? It has no fasteners, you step into it and pull it up and over your shoulders. They are so very comfy and they actually smooth things out and make your clothing look nicer too. We can get them at a lot of places here in the states but u could check online for a retailer near you. They also sell them online and on QVC. GOOD LUCK!

I use the Ahhh Bra in Canafa you can buy it from The Shopping Channel which is Canada's equivalent to QVC.

You can put it on at your feet and just pull it up, or you can put it on over your head and pull it down.

It's kinda like a sport bra and it offers a lot of support. I'm a DD and it supports me just fine. They last for years and years. Only on special occasions I wear my Victoria Secret bra... I need someone to do it up or I spin it around to get it done up.

The Ahh bra is very similar to the Genie Bra.

Ok I will admit some days I go bouncing free! My DH thinks I'm naughty but if no one else can see me flopping around then no one will be traumatized.

I have never done my bra up behind my back. Not even pre-RA. Always do the hooks at the front then swivel it round! Front fasteners would be easier I agree, but hardly see those these days in shops. Guess they are online all over though. Also a bra specialist in M&S said to bend forward and let yourself fall into the cups (if you have enough to fall!!) ... if that makes sense, before pulling the straps up! Comfier/easier this way I find.
