I've been struggling the last few days it's like a big black cloud is following me around & I can't shake it, even contemplating asking doc for some happy pills, can't remember ever feeling this bad. I no I'm not the only person hurting just putting out there. Sorry for moaning Michelle xx

Moan away Michelle & no need to apologise....ever! I think most of us are feeling down at the mo. Not only do we have each of our own associated problems it's that odd time of the year when most have little to look forward to except the winter & all that throws at us, then there's the run up to Christmas & the "busyness" that brings & then the day itself which can be both joyful & fractious at the same time, then more winter. So little wonder! Are you due a Rheumy appointment? Maybe your pain relief or other meds need reviewing.

Alternatively I hope you can find something to distract yourself before resorting to happy pills or pop on here to moan away, we all understand. x

Hi Michelle, I know exactly what you are going through. Do see your GP and take whatever help you're offered, there's no shame in taking anti depressants if you need them. We all take medicine for our RA, this is just another medicine to help us cope with this awful disease and what it does to us. I hope you are soon feeling better.

Hi chemar,

so sorry that you are feeling like this. If you need to talk to someone please feel free to ring the helpline on:

0800 298 7650 Monday - Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm

And don't worry about moaning. You're not moaning. You just need to let it all out. Sometimes just talking to someone who is willing to listen helps.

Best Wishes

Beverley (NRAS Helpline)

Hey Chemar,

Oh boy do I know that feeling... I usually try and 'keep busy' to push the black cloud further out towards the horizon. Busy might simply be emptying a cupboard drawer and sort it's contents to mowing the lawn (I am very lucky that my RA allows me to physically do this). When my depression was really bad, in 2007, I painted the entire inside of our house!!! Saved us a blessed fortune :) Work colleagues love it when I'm a little 'down' as the resource and PE. cupboards get a thorough tidying and suddenly they can find things again!

On bad fatigue days that are also sunny I wrap up in a 4 season sleeping bag and lie on a garden bench in the sun and listen to a play on my iplayer.

I hope the cloud drifts further away for you soon,

All the best

Ali

Hi Chemar

Sorry to hear you're feeling down. I am too at the moment and I am already on medication for it. I have had to go up a dose. Hope to be feeling better soon. I find it is frustrating waiting so long for rheumy appointments when the meds aren't working. My fatigue and depression don't seem to be taken that seriously, although guidelines say they will!

I would be a little more pushy jenebe & make yourself heard. Fatigue you can do little about except listen to your body & rest when it tells you to. Your GP needs making aware how you're feeling, particularly regarding your antidepressants, if your Rheumy appointment isn't imminent. It could all that's needed is an increase in your meds or even a different one. Please don't suffer, it won't help you cope with your RD any easier.
