Gosport Borough Council and Gosport Older Persons Forum, with the support of a variety of local organisations, have teamed up to make October ‘Older Persons Month’. As such, older people will be encouraged to get out and about during the month to try a new activity or attend an event listed within the ''older persons month' guidebook. Copies are available to collect from the town hall or downloaded from the Gosport council website gosport.gov.uk/sections/com... (under 'useful documents')
They will also be running the 55+ Info Fest as a joint event with the successful Annual Winter Warmth. The joint event will take place on Friday 24th Oct, 10am until 2pm at Thorngate Hall, Bury Road, Gosport. There are 45 exhibitor organisations taking part in the event who will be providing a range of information and advice. This is a free event with free refreshments as well as some interactive fun activities including a museum display, tai chi, seated exercise, yoga, craft and New Age Kurling!
(The Thorngate Hall has a large car park at the rear, charges apply. Bus services E2, 4, 5, 6 and 9 all stop nearby.)
If you would like further information, please contact Gosport Council on (023) 9258 4242.
Please note this is not an NRAS event.
