I saw this as well and thought I cannot blame my forgetfulness on anything now! I shan't mind that little discomfort on Mondays now, will think I am doing it for my brain as well as PsA!

This is great news - I am on Enbrel and didn't think it was doing much good, but will definitely keep taking it now! I have a strong family history of Alzheimers and I am sure it will happen to me sooner or later. My dad was only in his 50's when his started and he died at 66.

I'm glad to be encouraging. My mother in law had Alzheimer's and I know it's no picnic.

How long have you been on enbrel and why do you think it hasn't done much? I'm on 12 weeks and I have moments when it seems to be working, others, like first thing I feel despairing but that could be the chronic oa in my knees.

It definitely helped the symptoms a bit, but it was only when I restarted methotrexate a few months later (long story), that I really started to feel better. I did suggest to my Consultant that perhaos I should stop the Enbrel, but she wouldnt hear of it! She said I was on a very 'good combination'! I have been in both drugs for about 2 years now without any problems.

I think the addition of mtx does make the enbrel work better. Sadly I can't take it cos of my liver.

Hello Cathie I am relatively new to Enbrel and it is good to know it helps with warding off Alzheimer's. I have gotten really forgetful of late. Mind you I am 77 and always blame it on my age!!!

Hope you are finding Enbrel is working for you. It is my 5th injection on Monday and I am hoping it will eventually help with the horrible pains we RA's suffer. Take Care, Tina.

That is really good news Cathie. I am finding Enbrel really helpful, have been off of it for three weeks because of chest infection and am missing it. Hoping to start back this week. It is good to hear that it wards of Alzeimers. Take care.
