Thank you so very much to all who responded with information regarding pre filled syringes and the new pen. Not sure why my Rheumy has me loading syringes myself, but will find out on next visit. Information shared here is Great! Thank you all!

Methatrexate Injections
I had the DIY syringes and needles for several years, as I lived in an area with a cheapskate health trust that was trying to save every penny and these were a bit cheaper than the Metoject pre-filled syringes. It was a bit fiddly, but overall I find trying to get the needle cap of the Metojext is much more tricky than putting the DIY kit together. What did finally make me complain was when they switched to even cheaper syringes that were like kids toys, and really hard to press the plunger.
Why do they have to use that type of cap on Metoject? I can't grip well enough to ease them off so my h has to do it for me which used to concern me if he scratched himself & some MTX found it's way in. I've always had good quality ones though, with easy running plungers luckily. Not changed to the pen yet & a little apprehensive as I bruise so easily without much help &, well I'm happy controlling the speed it goes in. Have you not changed to the pen yet?
