Couldn't take tramadol, but I have taken maximum doses of cocodamol, and like you, it really doesn't do a lot. Understandable though - these are all straight pain meds, whereas in inflammatory arthritis a lot of the pain comes from active inflammation - which really needs anti-inflammatory or disease modifying treatment of some kind. If this is more than just a short lived flare, I'd go back to the rheumatologist and let them know that your RA meds just aren't working well enough.

I did that. ..The answer. .have some prednisone. ...on a declining scale....so in X amount of months. ..I'm gonna be right back where I was to begin with lol.

Not good. . I'm currently taking 2 tramadol. 2 paracetamol and 2 dihydracodeine just to alleviate the pain. It works unrefined I move.. The slightest. .. However I am a bit fuzzy!

Do you take those all at once, or do you stagger them? Just asking because years ago I got prescribed both cocodamol and NSAIDs, and was told that to get the best coverage from them I could take them alternating - so if I took each four times a day, I would take the NSAIDs every six hours, and I'd take the cocodamol right in between each NSAID dose. Seemed to work far better with less drowsiness when the doses were staggered rather than taking a handful at once.

All at once. Is the only way I can find to aliveiate the pain... tried tramadol alone. Dihydracodeine alone..With paracetamol without..One of each. .. All nothing near relieving

I'd take them as earthwitch suggests or if not comfortable with doing that see your GP & ask his advice explaining that you're really struggling.

I had a flare in my hip and groin at the weekend, I think the idea is to try and get on top of the pain before it peaks, unfortunately I was at a birthday party and had no meds with me, I had to be carried home, took 2 paracetamol when I got home, they had no effect, I took a tramadol around 2.30 in the morning it didn't seem to work either, it was around 24 hours (3 tramadol, 3 dicolphenic and 6 paracetamol) later before the pain started to ease, then I was sick with the amount of pain killers. Hopefully your meds kick in soon, if not I would ask for a steriod injection.

They do kick in...Take the edge off. Up until I need the toilet or in move to get comfy..

.then BANG!!! It's back with vengeance. I'm almost a veg at times....my face drops..but I can't sleep for long as again need toilet (ty tramadol)
