Hi I have ra I am on methotrexate and have just start... - NRAS
Hi I have ra I am on methotrexate and have just started enbrel injections has anyone had good results with the two I not having a good time
I have been on this combination for about 5 years and they work very well. I don't experience any side effects, and joint damage has slowed down considerably. I know it isn't like this for everyone, but it hope it works for you. Good luck.
Can you remember how long it took for them to kick in , I am off work at the moment as everything swollen and hurting and I want to give my body time to recover
Hiya, I,ve been on it for two and a half years and it,s been a miracle for me. It was around 6 weeks when I realised I wasn't having to hang over to get undressed and my 'gimpy' walk went around that time and best of all could get my bra on without difficulty!
At 12 weeks I felt much better and by the 20th week (give or take) I was and have been 90 percent better I have the odd 'mini' flare but nothing to complain about.
You,ll get there, it was very gradual for me but changed my life.
Hope you,ve managed to get through today
Hi mybigpain, I have been plaquenil, prednisone low dose, bupropion for depression, 2 mg a day of folic acid, gabapentin not sure for what. I also have been on methotrexate for about eight months by injection 15 mg once a week. With all that I still was having flair ups an in a lot of pain. I had my second shot of Enbrel on Tuesday. I have to say I feel so much better. I think it was the Enbrel that made the difference for me. I also have RA. I never recall getting any side effects from any of the meds except feeling very hot all over many times day and night. Give it time. It might just do the trick. Tell your doc if you have any bad side effects. Think positive if possible! All I can say is for today i am greatful for little discomfort.
I hope it works for you! Good luck to you!!
Hi Abby11 , glad to hear your meds are helping these are new meds for me as I was on sulfazalasine which made everything worse . I have been off work a month and with steroids and enbrel and methatrexate let's hope it does the trick
